This was the beginning of our third and last day in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Just a few miles south of Leadville, few minutes after sunrise, I spotted the contrast between the interesting shape of this lonely dead tree against the woods in the background, shaded by a passing cloud. I simply had to stop and capture the atmosphere of this gorgeous view, with the grazing herd of cows in the meadow behind the tree.

  1. That’s Colorado?! Are you serious?
I was sure it’s Serengeti or something..
    Stunning.
I’m not sure I told, I was also planning a ‘coast to coast’ kind of trip few years back. Unfortunately it was canceled, with many other plans due to … few changes in life.

Your blog is called ‘my little world’… I think it’s not so little. Great pictures!

@Ilan: i am glad you noticed the amazing similarity with Africa… I didn’t mention it in my comment because I didn’t know if it was just me having this impression… i wonder what makes it look like Africa, if it’s the trees or the light…
Anyways, if you can, at any point in time in your life, a “coast-to-coast” (that’s how we call it in Italy as well, here they call it “crosscountry”) is a truly life-changing experience, like reading an amazing book that stays with you for the rest of your life… you know what I mean?

@Rosanne: that’s kind of the irony. When I opened this website, my world was VERY little. It was 1999 and my home, my workplace, my parents’ house and most of my friends all fitted in a square mile. Now, 11 years later, my little world has become what you see here :-)

@joshi: Thank you for the visit!
