  1. I enjoyed looking at your photos, but was saddened that the site was not updated for a while. I was so please to see it up again today and enjoyed all the recent posts. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Kinda funny to see such an… enormous mountains, vast plains… And then see your blog’s title :)

Missed you and your works, long time no see :)

Thank you, Stephen! Sometimes life just gets a little too busy, which ends up getting in the way of my foto blog. Some other times going back to those picture taken during the cross country trip is a bit too painful — because it makes me want to go on vacation again :-)
I promise I will try to keep the updates coming more often than I did.

Great pictures of great scenery. Does not matter how many times it has been photographed before. I like how you included the path as a foreground in the picture!

Thank you, Morten. I took many shots of the Bells, but I liked this one better for the same reason you brought up. Had the sky been more interesting I might have tried something wider or with more sky, but with this plain dark blue I thought the blue wild flowers along the path would frame the shot better. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

Ilan, hee-hee… it’s so good to see you back in “town”. Missed you and your comments. I hope your sabbatical brought many good things into your life.

Stephen, I am glad to be back myself. I might not post every day new pictures, but I certainly have a hard drive full of pictures taken during our two trips across the country last year.

The Maroon Bells consists of two peaks, about 12 miles southwest of Aspen. Both peaks are counted as fourteeners. Maroon Peak, at 14,156 feet, is the 27th highest peak in Colorado; North Maroon Peak, at 14,014 feet, is the 50th highest. The view of the Maroon Bells to the southwest from the Maroon Creek valley is one of the most famous scenes in Colorado, and is reputed to be the "most-photographed spot in Colorado" and one of Colorado's premier scenic overlooks.
